SOUND COLLAGE
Anon(ymous) was a huge music project. Throughout the show, we often hear the same melody that represents home to Anon. Katie Lupica, the director, had the idea of using a created melody for every musical moment in the show. During the design process, the director and I had great conversations about what the melody Anon is hearing would be. Through my research, I found the Seikilos Epitaph which is considered the oldest Greek melody in the world. Using this melody as a basis, I altered the notes using MuseScore and made the melody unique to the show. The melody then went on to be sung live and used in many different genres such as Rock, Surf Rock, 80s Pop, Opera, and bird whistling.
